bDNA Probe Sets
What exactly is a bDNA probe set?
bDNA probe sets allow the user to detect mRNA expression for a specific enzyme. Each probe set consists of three components:
Capture Extenders (CE)
Label Extenders (LE)
Blockers (BL)
These probe sets are designed for use with the bDNA Signal Amplification Assay kit, which is commercially available.
How are bDNA probe sets prepared?
The gene sequence for the desired mRNA is obtained from GenBank. The sequence is analyzed by a computer program that will indicate the base sequences to target the Capture Extender (CE), Label Extender (LE) and Blocker (BL). Using these three components, you can achieve a chemiluminescent signal proportional to the levels of mRNA in your sample.
What types of probe sets does XenoTech offer?
XenoTech offers bDNA probes for human P450s (CYPs), sulfotransferases (SULTs) and UDP-glucuronosyltransferases (UGTs). Click here for more detail.
How should bDNA probes be handled?
The probe sets should be stored at –20˚C or lower. Instructions for the use of this product are provided in the literature accompanying the bDNA Signal Amplification Kit.
